St. Augustine: Day Trip

It's finally September!
We get pretty excited over here for September, because the weather starts cooling off.
The tourists start waning.
And it is our birthdays!

This past weekend Charlz and I sneaked a 24 hour overnight date to St. Augustine in between surfing and football.

It's only an hour and a half up the coast and it is so cool.
It's the oldest city in the country!

Everything looks so old!
Even the old people look older!

And there are so many cool old doors.
I am working on a series of doors for a wall in our house.
I think this is a good start.

Doors. Printing these out for my house.
 This set is stunning.
My favorites.
We had a delicious dinner at Harry's Seafood, and then walked around the city in the dark.
We decided NOT to take a ghost tour, but we did poach a couple who were wandering in our vicinity as we saw the sights. It was spooky. My phone camera refused to work at one of the locations until the tour group left. We said "OOOooooOOoooOooOoOOOOoo" after every sentence the tour guide said as we wiggled our fingers.

It would have freaked you out.

Anyway, it rained all morning and we decided on a leisurely drive down the A1A with stopping along the way for little explorer walks.

I love time away.
We should have stayed longer.
But we were home by 12:30.

Because we missed the kids.

(And Lola. I really missed Lola. And apparently she missed me more then the kids even know how to.)

Cuzzies

These 3 just fell right into their vacation together like it hadn't even been 6 months since they saw each other.
Oh.
Cousin love.
It makes me swoon.

How super fun for them to be the little gaggle of girls of the family
and pretty much be the same age.
Guh.
They are just all so cute together.
Like the 3 musketeers.
Only cuter and less facial hair.

Of course they are almost even more powerful when they are together,
since they form this sort of familial support team.
They totally had each others' backs.
For the most part.

And if things got a little too heated?
We'd just throw them in the pool.

Because, seriously, cooling off calms you down.

They had so much fun together that I can't wait to get them back together again.
I love watching them make memories together.
Childhood memories that are steeped in all the glory of new imaginations.

And I hope they still all want to sleep together in the same room until they are like, 25.

Of course I have lots more pictures to share.
See ya tomorrow!

Day-cation

I LOVE living near Disney. EVERYBODY ends up coming here for one reason or another, which means we get WAY more visitors than we used to.

Like how right now Uncle Joe is visiting and staying out at a Disney Resort for a conference.

So we went out there and played tourist yesterday afternoon.

Madee loves a good alligator (elevator).

Dad and Madee heading out to the pool.

And the fun begins...

Hot vacation dad.
Something about being on vacation makes you just want to make out in the pool.
Or maybe that is just me.

Me-OW!

Me and my girls.

They are loving learning how to swim. And a nice resort baby pool is perfect for them.

Guess what? The camera takes pics UNDERWATER!

Umm, yah. I could get used to this!
