She's 3!

And here are all the details!
First, she told me she wanted a "Bird Birthday" where LIVE BIRDS flew out of her cake when I cut it.

Ummm, what?
So I started pushing the whole mermaid birthday party thinking that it was going to be waaaaaay easier.
Not "The Little Mermaid".
Just MERMAID.
And then I found out there is great lack in this world of mermaid type items...

So I whipped up some home made play do and made this cake topper.

And we bought her an awesome mermaid book.
And made awesome mermaid chalk drawings.

And her dad painted her this adorable mermaid picture.

And we invited like 15 of her little mermaid friends.

And it was FANTASTIC.
And she approved.
Make a wish little nugget...
And blow!
And then freak out a little!
Her favorite party gift...
Because, DUH!

Butters!

We found a butterfly.
Or a butterwalk.
She has a shriveled wing.
She doesn't fly.

So we adopted her.
Whipped up some simple syrup.
And made her a home in my herb bowl on the back porch.

She has made a happy little home here with us.
And we are taking very good care of her for as long as she wants us to.

I mean seriously,
who couldn't love this face?

Oopsy Daisy

We started looking for a new dog a couple of months ago, and it hasn't been easy.
We have 5 beings in this household who have to deal with this new addition, so we had a time compromising on 1 friend that we all wanted to love.

Charlie and Ohno did not want a puppy.
The girls didn't want something big.
I didn't want to offend so many other people in my life.
You know, people who certainly wouldn't be worried about me if they were getting a new pet.

And yesterday, it happened.
Madee pointed her chubby little finger and said, That's the one, Mom."
And we went for it.

And then there was Oopsy Daisy.

She is a little 2-4 year old Welsh Corgi.
25 lbs, but really not much taller than Ohno.
And so begins her days in the beach house, wiping away the memory of her life at the Humane Society.
And moving on from the life she had before that.

She is very happy here, and we are happy to have given her a chance and a new lease on life.

Welcome to our home, little bug!
