Day-cation

I LOVE living near Disney. EVERYBODY ends up coming here for one reason or another, which means we get WAY more visitors than we used to.

Like how right now Uncle Joe is visiting and staying out at a Disney Resort for a conference.

So we went out there and played tourist yesterday afternoon.

Madee loves a good alligator (elevator).

Dad and Madee heading out to the pool.

And the fun begins...

Hot vacation dad.
Something about being on vacation makes you just want to make out in the pool.
Or maybe that is just me.

Me-OW!

Me and my girls.

They are loving learning how to swim. And a nice resort baby pool is perfect for them.

Guess what? The camera takes pics UNDERWATER!

Umm, yah. I could get used to this!

We Love the Beach

Even when it is dang fool cold.

Seriously. This one insists on wearing her bathing suit in February. Like a Canadian.

The beach is more fun every time we go. At this age, for both of them? The beach is just perfect. They walk with me. We find things. We learn things.

We met a little girl who found 3 starfish.

We watch the surfers.

We play.

We let the wind through our hair and the sand through our fingers.

We count how many jellyfish bigger than our heads we find washed up on the beach.

We make plans for the future.

We daydream.

We bask in the love that has brought us all together.

Where is your favorite place to be with your kids?
Out of your home, I mean...

That's Incredible

Ya know? Living in Tahoe was pretty amazing. I mean the mountains and the lake and the views from up tops and the blizzards and the sometimes waking up to 10 feet of snow? AMAZING.

But not my kind of amazing.

I wanted to come back to where I came from.

There is just all this stuff that I felt like I was missing. The beach, my parents, the theme parks, the weather.

I knew I really wanted to come back.

And it is easy breezy days with the kids all my myself at Sea World that really reinforce that for me.

I love hanging out with my kids and watching them see new things for the first time.
The things I remember seeing for the first time when I was a kid.

Who knew? The gypsy has a thing for tradition.

(I also have a thing for this dude's mustache. AWESOME.)

I mean what kid wouldn't want wild dreams about this crazy bird lady swinging around?

This is the first time we caught the whale and dolphin show, and let me tell ya - it is INCREDIBLE. By far the best show that Sea World has going on. Mostly because the trainers are still in the water with these guys.

This is a False Killer Whale. He is just this gorgeous streamlined shadow of a thing and his routine is like WOAH.

Each set of animals have their own designated trainers who wear different wetsuits. One of this guy's trainers was an obviously pregnant lady.

Um, so cool random pregnant lady. SO COOL.

This is his other (unpregnant) trainer surfing him.

Yeah, that's right. SURFING him.

I think I want one.

And the dolphins? We see dolphins all the time on the way to the beach or at the beach even, but I have never seen the wild ones do this:

Umm, he got like 20 feet of air that time.

Anyhoo. Gotta run.

I told the kids we would go back today and try and catch that new Shamu baby in action...

Fairy Tails and Owwws

Eden's bangs are all out of control lately, and I refuse to cut her curls.
Come to think of it, Madee's bangs are pretty long lately too, they have been sporting the same little Pebbles Flintstone ponytail on top of their noggins.

Madee calls them "Fairy Tails" and takes hers out right away.

Eden calls them "Owwwwws"

They are really enjoying the beach these days. They could play in sand and water till cows come home.

Also? BOATS!
and SURPERS!
and FWENDS!

It is a total score!

And Boom Boom is getting the hang of this surfing thing. So he looks all kinds of happy at the beach too.

"Take me surfing, Daddy?"

These girls are total beach babes now. With their little princess wings? They have the confidence to take on all the fishes!

Gorgeous beach bum smile.

"I go surpin TOO!"

I like to bite this chin meat.

Madee just looks so natural on the beach. Her hair, her swagger, like she was made for surfing.

I die of her cuteness DAILY.
Seriously. Somebody pull out the paddles.
